Prior to founding the law firm of Yuval Levy & Co., Prof. Levy was a partner in one of Israel’s top law firms specializing in commercial, maritime and international law. During that time, he traveled frequently through East Africa handling legal work relating to public works, road building, and construction in Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania. A lecturer in law at the Tel Aviv University School of Law since 1961, and now Professor (emeritus) after serving on the faculty for over forty years, Prof. Levy has published some 30 books and articles in the field of criminal law, evidence, civil and criminal procedure, private international law, and law reform.

Prof. Levy represents a myriad of national and multinational companies and banks, and served as director of the Mercantile Discount Bank for fifteen years. He has spearheaded numerous precedential cases in Israel’s Supreme Court and is called upon frequently for his legal opinion on a variety of corporate, banking and commercial matters. His practice varies widely – from serving as a court-appointed supervisor, in what is likely the largest property transaction ever conducted in Israel regarding a vacant area of almost 300 acres in the midst of a populated part of Israel (north Tel Aviv), to representing public figures investigated by cabinet-appointed commissions of inquiry following major events in Israel’s history.

Prof. Levy has served as arbitrator, both in Israel and overseas, and is a member of the Arbitration Institute, which operates under the auspices of the International Chamber of Commerce in Paris.

Chamber’s & Partners (2007 Edition) has noted that Prof. Levy “attracts deep admiration for his experience and intelligence” while the 2006 Edition pointed out that “Israeli commentators are clearly impressed by [Prof. Levy’s] experience: “Some of our top legal minds, lawyers and judges, have studied under him, noted one, while international clients praise him as a “brilliant man with a great team.”

Chambers 2008: "attracts deep admiration for his experience and intelligence."

Chambers 2009 noted that he is "[o]ne of the finest legal minds in the country."

Prof. Levy received an M.Jur. from Hebrew University in 1954, and an LL.M. (1959) and J.S.D. (1960), both cum laude, from Yale Law School. He is a member of the Israel Bar, as well as a Notary.
